Siyam Iru Fushi Marks World Tourism Day with a Celebration of Sustainability and Culture
Sun Siyam Iru Fushi brought the global theme of “Tourism & Sustainable Transformation” to life with a vibrant World Tourism Day 2025 celebration. As part of the Sun Siyam Cares initiative, guests and team members came together for a series of immersive experiences, from cultural showcases and creative workshops to sustainability-focused activities, all designed to highlight the resort’s commitment to responsible tourism and the Maldivian way of life.
The celebrations began with Taste the Change – Sustainable Cooking Challenge, where participants crafted delicious plant-based dishes using zero-waste, seasonal ingredients, while learning practical tips to reduce food waste. The afternoon continued with the Kite Festival – Flying High for Sustainable Transformation, where guests and staff members designed, built, and flew kites carrying messages of sustainability, cultural pride, and positive change.
The event highlighted Iru Fushi’s dedication to sustainable tourism, providing unique and enriching experiences for both guests and the local community.
