Noku Maldives, Vignette Collection has announced the launch of a dedicated Sea Turtle Conservation Programme, created in collaboration with the Atoll Marine Conservation Centre (AMCC). Beginning 25 November 2025, this long-term initiative reinforces the resort’s commitment to the Vignette Collection pillar Means for Good, reflecting a thoughtful approach to environmental stewardship and responsible hospitality.
The waters surrounding Noku Maldives are home to a naturally thriving ecosystem—expansive seagrass meadows, coral-rich shallows, and warm, sheltered lagoons that offer a vital sanctuary for sea turtles. In recent years, the island has witnessed multiple nesting events along its shores, a rare and meaningful indicator of the health of its marine environment. The new programme aims to strengthen and safeguard this natural legacy.

Through the collaboration with AMCC, a full-time marine biologist from the organisation will be based on the island to lead a comprehensive portfolio of conservation work. This includes studying the local sea turtle population, conducting reef and coral health assessments, supporting long-term scientific research, and delivering fieldwork and community outreach programmes across nearby islands.
The programme will also deepen guest engagement through educational sessions, guided snorkelling experiences, and conservation-focused workshops, allowing travellers to connect with the underwater world in purposeful and inspiring ways.

This initiative forms part of Noku Maldives’ expanding suite of Means for Good activities, which include reef conservation studies, coral restoration efforts, cultural experiences, and community-led programmes. Together, these efforts shape the resort’s commitment to creating one-of-a-kind stays rooted in authenticity, responsibility, and a deep respect for the environment.
“Our lagoon has always been a peaceful refuge for sea turtles and marine life, ” says Hussain Shahid, General Manager of Noku Maldives. “This partnership with AMCC reflects our dedication to protecting these waters and ensuring they continue to thrive. By bringing conservation, community involvement, and guest education together, we believe we can create meaningful and lasting impact for the atoll.”
