Emerald Collection Celebrates Two Years as Sustainability LeadersEmerald Collection marks two years as Sustainability Leaders, reaffirming its commitment to eco-conscious luxury at Emerald Maldives and Emerald Faarufushi.

Emerald Collection has marked a significant milestone as both Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa and Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa have once again been recognised as Sustainability Leaders by The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) for the second consecutive year.
This recognition reflects the group’s continued commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable hospitality practices across its Maldivian properties. The Sustainability Leader designation is awarded to members of The Leading Hotels of the World that meet stringent sustainability standards aligned with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) criteria — an internationally recognised benchmark for responsible tourism.
By achieving this distinction once again, Emerald Collection reinforces its dedication to protecting the fragile ecosystems of the Maldives while maintaining the highest standards of luxury hospitality.
Sustainability has long been a core pillar of Emerald Collection’s philosophy. Across both Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa and Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa, the brand has implemented a range of environmentally conscious initiatives designed to minimise environmental impact and support long-term conservation.
These efforts include responsible energy management, marine conservation initiatives, waste reduction programmes, and the protection of surrounding coral reefs and marine biodiversity. Such practices ensure that the resorts operate in harmony with their natural surroundings while contributing positively to the preservation of the Maldives’ delicate ecosystem.
The recognition from LHW highlights the effectiveness of these initiatives and underscores Emerald Collection’s commitment to maintaining global sustainability standards.
