Talking about the program, Simon Quarrell, General Manager at Ayada Maldives shared “The vision behind this program is to create a learning culture for our colleagues where they learn and develop through experiences.  These programs are part of our core learning and development objectives as talent development is the key to success for any organization, this positively reflects in the way we take care of our guests and create excellent experiences for them.”

The program consists of two phases:

Phase 1 – The Learning Phase

In this phase the AyStars went through series of experiential learning sessions where they performed multiple tasks and learnt through reflection of their actions in these tasks. The group met twice every month and took part in learning sessions conducted by the in house Learning and Development team.

In this phase the AyStars shared their aspirations and career objectives and these sessions helped them to bridge the gap between their current competencies and the desired one.

Phase 2 – The Project Phase

The AyStars have now moved to the Phase 2 of the program where they have successfully proposed their projects to the leadership team of the resort and will be passionately working on their Individual projects over next sixty days. They have chosen projects which will add value to the everyday operations either through enhanced guest experience, revenue or employee experience

During this phase they will be actively supported by their head of departments and the leadership team through weekly catch up meetings and sessions, the AyStars will present their final projects in March 2020.

Deepanshu Chawla, Human Resources and Training Manager said “We are extremely happy with the progress of our AyStars in the Phase 1 and are now eagerly waiting for them to present their final projects as these will add a lot of value to their development, we look forward to continuously support our talented team members in this fruitful journey”.
