Diamonds Thudufushi and Athuruga resorts, nestled in the serene beauty of the Ari Atoll, commemorated Earth Day on April 22, 2024, with a series of impactful initiatives aimed at fostering sustainability and environmental consciousness. Collaborating with their valued guests and dedicated Team players, they embarked on a journey to protect the planet’s precious resources.
The Earth Day celebration commenced with a soulful “Greet the Earth” morning yoga session, inviting guests to connect with nature and set positive intentions for the day ahead.
Following the yoga session, they united for a tree-planting effort across the island. Hand in hand, guests and Team players planted saplings, symbolising their collective commitment to nurturing the biodiversity of the Maldives. Each tree serves as a testament to their dedication to sustainable practices and the preservation of the island home.
In line with their commitment to the planet, they conducted a comprehensive clean-up of deserted Emboodhoo Island, accompanied by their in-house Marine biologists.
They concluded their Earth Day festivities with a captivating movie night under the stars. Nestled on the beach, guests delighted in the magic of cinema while surrounded by the natural splendour of the Maldives. This experience served as a touching reminder of the awe-inspiring beauty that they strive to preserve and protect.
“One of the most rewarding things one could do is to plant a tree, we should do it more often” General Manager of Diamonds Resorts Maldives. “It is the promise of life, not only for the tree, but for all life that surrounds it.”
Diamonds Thudufushi and Athuruga Earth Day celebrations symbolise their dedication to sustainability. From their eco-conscious practices, coral restoration projects and community initiatives, they continue to lead by example in the pursuit of a greener, more sustainable future for the Maldives and beyond.
