Fushifaru Maldives Celebrates Love and New Beginnings with Valentine’s Day and Year of the Fire Horse Festivities

Fushifaru Maldives recently treated guests to an extraordinary week of celebrations, marking both Valentine’s Day and the arrival of the Year of the Fire Horse with immersive island experiences.

The festivities began with a romantic transformation of the island in honour of Valentine’s Day. The resort’s iconic infinity pool became the centrepiece of the celebration, adorned with bespoke décor that created a picture-perfect setting. On the sandbank, a charming kissing booth invited couples to capture memorable moments against the backdrop of turquoise waters and golden sunsets.

Live music and a thoughtfully curated playlist set a warm and intimate atmosphere throughout the evening. Couples gathered at Korakali for an elegant under-the-stars dinner, where a specially crafted menu elevated the romance of the occasion. Valentine’s-inspired desserts delighted guests, with red velvet creations, delicate macarons, chocolate almond cake and indulgent butterscotch mousse adding a sweet finale to the celebration.

The island then shifted its focus to welcoming the Year of the Fire Horse, a symbol of energy, strength and vibrant new beginnings. The celebration came alive with captivating fire dance and lion dance performances that brought dynamic movement and cultural flair to the shoreline. Two striking red horse installations stood proudly on the beach, framed by a dramatic line of fire that illuminated the night and paid tribute to renewal and prosperity.

Younger guests joined in the festivities through a Tang Hu Lu class, where they crafted traditional caramelised fruit candy, adding a playful and cultural dimension to the celebrations.

The evening concluded with a special Asian-themed dinner, featuring highlights such as Peking duck, freshly grilled seafood and an interactive Chinese wok station. The culinary experience offered both flavour and theatre, creating a vibrant and immersive atmosphere for guests.

From romantic beachfront moments to energetic cultural performances, the week at Fushifaru Maldives was a seamless blend of love, celebration and symbolic new beginnings, leaving guests with lasting memories of a truly special island experience.
