Gastronomic Tourism to be introduced in the Maldives by Guesthouses Association of Maldives.
This program will be held in collaboration with the European University of Tourism and 4 Italian tour operators. The representing delegation team will be going on field trips to Alif Alif Rasdhoo, Ukulhas, Baa Atoll Fehendhoo, Goidhoo and Kaafu Thulusdhoo within 8 days.
Arriving on Sunday, this team will meet MMPRC officials along with councillors from the atolls while on their field trips. Indian Ocean United Nations representative will also take part in the activities.
The association’s corporate affairs member Mr Mohamed Wafir said, “Our aim is to promote these specific dishes and cuisines, available exclusively from these islands, in Italy and to improve the number of tourist arrivals to local guesthouses from the country. This will further give a better understanding of these travellers where such culinary delicacies will be available.”
Guesthouse Association of Maldives informs that this is the first of many programs to be held in collaboration with different tour operators from different countries.
