In the Maldives Partnership Forum, Minister of Economic Development, Honorable Fayyaz Ismail focused on the improvement required by the transport system in the Maldives. “The current government aims for citizens to be able to reach from an island to an airport in under 20 minutes”, stated the Economic Minister Fayyaz at the event held in Kurumbaa Maldives.
He also stated that only 5 more airports are required to reach this goal. This would improve the country’s overall transport system along with the ferry services. Some of the construction work for the new airports are already underway and within the next 5 years, the development is estimated to be complete.
