Guesthouse Association of Maldives (GAM) in association with Maldives Police Service and Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has conducted several activities to celebrate world tourism day 2019.
Among the activities included several water sports activities such as a canoe race where 18 teams competed. A food tasting session was also where 9 guesthouses presented their culinary specialities including varieties of both local and international food.
Dive Club Maldives also arranged a bubble maker dive for kids where 27 kids participated from ages 5 to 12 years old. All the events took place at Hulhumale’ beach area on 28th September 2019. GAM informs that event was a success with support from a number of tourists and locals from Hulhumale’.
Guesthouse Association of Maldives (GAM) was established in 2014 when a group of establishment owners got together to promote the local tourism industry. They continue to help the guesthouses in the Maldives to develop the local island tourism in the Maldives.
