Ibrahim Shiuree has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
Shiuree, aged 40, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served in various significant positions across different sectors. Most recently, he was a Steering Committee member for the World Bank’s Enhancing Employability and Resilience of Youth project, a role that underscores his commitment to youth development and capacity building.
In addition to his new responsibilities at MMPRC, Shiuree currently serves as the Vice President of the Table Tennis Association of Maldives. His contributions to the sport have been widely recognised, earning him the prestigious National Award.
Shiuree’s extensive professional background includes serving as Director of Projects and Infrastructure in a private company. During his tenure, he played leading roles in several major airport development projects across the Maldives, including Fuvahmulah Airport, Dharavandhoo Airport, Ifuru Airport, Kooddoo Airport, Kuda Huvadhoo Airport, and Kulhudhuhfushi Airport.
Furthermore, Shiuree is an active Executive Board Member of the Maldives National Association of Construction Industry (MNACI), contributing to the development and advancement of the construction sector in the Maldives. He has also been a member of the Hajj Corporation, demonstrating his versatility and breadth of experience in various industries.
Shiuree’s appointment as Managing Director of MMPRC is expected to bring dynamic leadership and innovative strategies to the organisation, further enhancing the Maldives’ reputation as a premier destination for travellers worldwide.
