For nearly two decades, Nina Fleischmann-Torosyan, the CEO & Founder of LuxCrest, has been closely connected to the Maldives, working on some of its most well-known island resorts, including Cheval Blanc Randheli, Velaa Private Island, Kudadoo Private Island, Hurawalhi, and Park Hyatt Maldives. During this time, the number of visitors to the country has grown from half a million to two million, reflecting its increasing appeal to international travellers.
Drawing on 12 years of experience in the Maldives, Nina founded LuxCrest on the belief that marketing, communications, and sales should work together as a unified strategy. Guided by the simple yet powerful mantra, ‘marketing + communications = sales,’ she recognised that while many resorts engage separate agencies for these functions, a more integrated approach leads to stronger, more effective results.
Operating as a boutique agency, LuxCrest limits its client portfolio to a select few at any given time, ensuring focused attention. With over 160 resorts in the Maldives offering similar natural beauty, the distinction lies in how each property presents itself to its audience. LuxCrest works on developing brand narratives that resonate with specific markets, drawing on its presence in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Benelux, Spain, Italy, the UK, and Central and Eastern Europe.
The LuxCrest team brings extensive hospitality experience, having visited more than 2,000 luxury hotels across 165 countries and over 80 resorts in the Maldives alone. Nina herself has been involved in the openings of seven Maldivian resorts, gaining insight into what appeals to different travellers. Over time, guest expectations have evolved—from the demand for overwater villas to a focus on wellness, fine dining, and unique experiences. Today, activities such as Padel and pickleball are growing in popularity, reflecting the ongoing shifts in luxury travel.
Nina describes LuxCrest as an extension of a resort’s own team, ensuring that its message is conveyed with precision and impact. “The hotel’s success is our success,” she explains. “We get a thrill from seeing our hotels taken from concept to delivery—everyone is our proverbial baby.”
LuxCrest works closely with resorts to refine their positioning and ensure their message reaches the right audience. Based in both the UK and Germany, the team collaborates with international travel designers, media professionals, agents, and tour operators while maintaining strong connections with media outlets and tourist boards. This approach supports resorts in navigating an increasingly competitive market and adapting to changing traveller preferences.
