The Maldives is making impressive progress, hitting a remarkable 65% of its yearly goal of 1.8 million tourist arrivals. Recent updates also highlight Spain’s emergence as a key contributor to Maldives travel, securing a spot among the top 10 source markets with 22,533 arrivals.
The latest figures show that a total of 1,181,093 tourists had arrived in the Maldives by Wednesday. With this achievement, the nation now aims to welcome an additional 634,663 tourists to achieve its ambitious target.
Currently, the Maldives welcomes an average of 5,631 tourists daily. If this trend continues, it’s projected that about 800,000 more tourists will visit in the remaining four and a half months of the year. Comparatively, the 1.1 million tourist arrivals this year already indicate a growth of 13.8% compared to the same period last year, representing an extra 141,608 visitors. On average, tourists now spend 7.7 days in the Maldives, showing improvement from the previous year.
Currently, the top five source markets for tourist arrivals are Russia, India, China, UK, and Germany.
