Conquering impressive competition from scores of romantic honeymoon destinations from across the globe, Maldives has been crowned as the best honeymoon destination for the 2nd time by the Luxury Lifestyle Magazine Readers’ Travel Awards.
The Maldives also won the 2nd place for the “Best Island” category.
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Company (MMPRC) stated that the first six months of 2019 has been the most successful for Maldives tourism since 2010. According to their statistics report, from the European nations, the largest increase in the number of tourists visiting the Maldives was recorded in the number of arrivals from Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Tourist arrivals from Italy have increased by 37.7% while 19.7% was recorded in tourist arrivals from Germany and a 12.6% increase has been seen from the United Kingdom.
The Luxury Lifestyle Magazine Readers’ Travel Awards is run by the Luxury Lifestyle Magazine association with Blue Bay Travel. They stated that this year the results are based on the opinions of 74,915 readers clamouring to nominate their picks of some of the industry’s most astonishing travel destinations and show-stopping hotels, across a variety of travel-related categories. This year marks the 2nd year for this annual prestigious award.
