Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has successfully concluded the “Rediscover Maldives Webinar Series” with the final session held on 14th September which was targeted towards the Russian and CIS markets. This webinar series was conducted through 4 sessions which was distributed throughout the first 2 weeks of September 2020.
The ultimate purpose of this webinar series, which was held in the format of informative discussions and video clips showcasing unique experiences to restore the connection with the travel trade media from key markets. The panelists of the webinar session included Ms. Aishath Samiya, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Mr. Asad Riza, Deputy Minister of Tourism. Participants from MMPRC and PR representatives from each market and industry partners joined in the discussion on the impacts of COVID-19 and the recovery strategies to adapt to the situation in order to rebuild the confidence in the destination as a safe haven for tourists.
“A Dozen Must Do Experiences in the Maldives” was also launched during these webinars. These experiences were showcased by industry partners including Bandos Maldives, The Nautilus, LUX* Hotels & Resorts, Six Senses Laamu, Gili Lankanfushi, Villa Hotels & Resorts, Secret Paradise, Waldorf Astoria, UI Hotels, Grand Park Kodhipparu, Adaaran and Conrad Maldives. Participants were virtually transported to the unique experiences of their properties.
MMPRC’s Managing Director, Mr. Thoyyib Mohammed stated that MMPRC is working together with representatives from the respective markets on more marketing efforts to constantly remind visitors that the Maldives is one of the most preferred and safest holiday destinations.
With over 900 participants, these webinar sessions were a success in building awareness about the changing norms of travelling while assuring safety and preference of tourists from all over the world. Under the current circumstances, the geographical distribution of our islands and the one-island-one-resort concept guarantees that visitors get to enjoy their vacation in seclusion as it offers a level of safety that can only be achieved in Maldives. MMPRC will continue carrying out marketing campaigns through digital platforms, mostly focusing on ensuring safety while experiencing the sunny side of life in the Maldives.
