Maldives welcomes MS MSC Orchestra – the largest cruise ship to arrive in the Maldives

The Maldives has welcomed MS MSC Orchestra, the largest cruise to arrive in the Maldives to date with 2,476 passengers and 957 crew members. The cruise arrived on 3rd November 0600hrs and will depart from Male’ by evening 1800hrs.

MS MSC Orchestra is a cruise ship that was built in 2007 for MSC Cruises. She is the second ship of the Musica class. She could at the time accommodate 2,550 passengers in 1,275 cabins. Most inside cabins were later refitted with two bunk beds and therefore she can now accommodate 3,200 passengers. Her crew complement is approximately 990.

MSC Cruises is a global cruise line registered in Switzerland and based in Geneva. MSC Cruises is the world’s largest privately held cruise company, employing about 23,500 people worldwide and having offices in 45 countries as of 2017.

The handling agent for MS MSC Orchestra is Antrac. During the visit, the passengers will visit sites in Male’ city along with other nearby islands and resorts in the Maldives.
