On World Turtle Day, the Milaidhoo Family will participate in a comprehensive training programme led by two experienced marine biologists from the Atoll Marine Conservation Centre. The training will include practical demonstrations on safely and effectively handling entangled turtles, ensuring the team is well-prepared for such situations. Additionally, the Milaidhoo staff will receive training on the code of conduct for megafauna sightings during excursions, emphasizing the importance of responsible and respectful wildlife interactions. These sessions, guided by the expertise of the Atoll Marine Conservation Centre, are dedicated to preserving marine biodiversity and promoting sustainable practices.
For its esteemed guests, Milaidhoo has arranged an informative presentation focused on the fascinating lives of sea turtles, particularly those residing in the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The highlight of the day will be an exclusive turtle expedition, offering guests the unique opportunity to swim alongside the famous hawksbill and green sea turtles in their natural habitat.
