Ministry of Tourism has unveiled activities lined for in celebration of World Tourism Day – September 27th.
During a reception held on July 29th at Dharubaaruge, Minister of Tourism, Hon. Ali Waheed announced that the Ministry has planned various activities targeted to increase the number of tourist arrivals to the Maldives.
The Ministry plans onto to conduct the first Bokkura Race where both men and women from each island can take part to cover the entire Maldives.
Freedive events will be hosted as well to provide the opportunity for citizens alike to try out and see the beauty of the sport. The Ministry also hopes to create a world record attempt by making the ‘biggest human ring’ around Male’ city.
While addressing the audience at the reception, Minister of Tourism, Ali Waheed stated that the Ministry aims to fulfill the pledge by President Ibrahim Solih to increase the number of tourist arrivals to 1.5 million by the end of November 2019.
