MMPRC Launches Long-Awaited Tourism Campaign For South East Asia

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) to kick off a dedicated tourism campaign in SE Asia region with the Visit Maldives Travel Expo 2019 in association with AirAsia. This exhibition will be held in Putrajaya, Malaysia from 5th- 7th July 2019.

The exhibition location, IOI Mall is a multi-award-winning city mall, located within IOI Resort City. The exhibition will be held on the ground floor of the Mall presented in a unique concept with high visibility from over 150,000 visitors to the mall per day.

This B2B & B2C exhibition is a platform to connect with top agents, operators and industry experts in Malaysia. During the three-day exhibition, co-exhibitors will be able to make direct bookings with agents as well as interact with the local public to sell packages on the spot.

‘With the Malaysian expo, we are launching our campaign in the South-East Asia region. We believe this initiative will help us to promote the Maldives as a top destination across the globe”, the Managing Director of MMPRC, Thoyyib Mohamed stated.

He further highlighted that the corporation feels there is room to attract more visitors from this region as travelers’ tend to be quick decision-makers on overseas trips unlike other countries worldwide.

Aside from Malaysia, MMPRC is also planning to conduct numerous promotions in SouthEast Asia regions such as the Philippines and Singapore. Under this initiative, the Maldives leading tourism promotion agency, MMRPC will take part in the upcoming NATAS Holiday Fair in Singapore from August 2nd-4th.

Currently, South-East Asian Travellers make up 6.6% of the total traffic to Maldives. Main source markets to the Maldives are Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.
