Patina Maldives, Fari Islands has announced the promotion of Afaag Ibrahim to Director of Sales of the Australian and Middle Eastern market and Zainab Shihab to Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications.
Previously holding the title of Assistant Director of Sales during the pre-opening, Afaag brings to the table his extensive experience in luxury hospitality sales, and will be vital in driving sales from the Australian and Middle Eastern market. In his role, Afaag will lead key sales activations and help drive Patina Maldives’ overall sales and marketing strategy.
His journey started 14 years ago by serving as part of the guest services and reservations teams at Anantara Naladhu Resort and Spa and Paradise Island Resort and Spa. Afaag also holds qualifications in Revenue Management and Sales Account Management.
With over five years experience in resort marketing, Zainab is an enthusiastic marketing and public relations professional with a passion for social media, content curation, food & beverage and travel.
Prior to her promotion, Zainab was the Marketing Communications Manager at Patina Maldives. Her career so far encompasses a wide range of experience in marketing and communications. Prior to joining Patina Maldives, she served as the Marketing and Communications Manager for Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort and Spa in Thailand. Her first foray into the hospitality industry was as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.
Zainab started her career as a Writer and Content Promoter for numerous publications in Melbourne, Australia focusing on lifestyle, bridal and arts publications, and had obtained her Masters in Communications with Distinctions from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia.
