Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort and Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort has organized Ms. Heartist 2019, Pageant for a Cause.
Ms. Heartist 2019, Pageant for a Cause was held on 10th December 2019. The talent and culture team and Ms. Heartist candidates sold raffle tickets worth of USD 6,630. The funds received from the sale of tickets was used to support the Children’s Home.
Ms. Heartist 2019 consisted of 7 ladies from Pullman and 2 from Mercure. The 9 kind-hearted, beautiful and gorgeous ladies from the islands of Pullman Maldives Maamutaa and Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort stood up as the Charity Ambassadors for Children’s Home Orphanage in Villi-Male’.
The talent and culture team released a statement saying, “All the funds raised, USD 6,630 was donated to the children’s orphanage through in-kind and cash donations. Our team was able to share the things that the center requested, such as beds and mattresses, TV’s, washing machines and cash donations and more importantly, the time spent and the interactions during the visit was truly memorable and heart warming.”
They further added, “We believe that the children are the most vulnerable members of our society and if we deprive them from their basic needs, it will affect their physical, mental, emotional and social growth as young citizens. It will affect us as well.”
The Ministry of Gender and Family officially established Kudakudhunge Hiya’ on May 2006, the only local orphanage in Villingili Island of Maldives, with the aim of providing a safe and secure environment for orphans and vulnerable children deprived from other means of primary care.
