Qatar Airways has announced that they are introducing personal protective equipment (PPE) suits for the cabin crew during flights. This is to reduce the interactions between the passengers and crews during COVID-19 pandemic. According to the airline, the crew will wear PPE suits over their uniforms in addition to safety goggles, gloves and masks. The precautions are meant to provide greater assurance of safety to their customers.
Furthermore, the airline also implemented additional health and safety measures onboard their flights to assure passenger health and safety:
Since the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic, the airline has been regularly disinfecting all their aircrafts using cleaning products recommended by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Moreover, Qatar Airways implemented advanced air filtration systems in their aircrafts equipped with industrial-size HEPA filters that remove 99.97 per cent of viral and bacterial contaminants from re-circulated air, providing the most effective protection against infection for their passengers.
Qatar Airways is the national flag carrier of Qatar, flying more than 160 destinations in 82 countries. However, the airline has temporarily reduced its flight operations due to the pandemic.
