ROBINSON Maldives has forged a partnership with Aboobakuru School from G.Dh. Thinadhoo, with the aim of providing their esteemed guests with an exceptional opportunity to connect with the local community and immerse themselves in a diverse array of traditional Maldivian activities. Through this collaboration, visitors are afforded an authentic and immersive experience that truly showcases the richness of Maldivian culture during their stay in the Maldives.
Moreover, this joint initiative serves as a means to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the cultural heritage among the students and staff of Aboobakuru School. It encompasses the nurturing, preservation, and transmission of this heritage to future generations, emphasizing its importance from an early age. By fostering this collaborative effort, a heightened awareness of the significance of safeguarding the Maldivian cultural heritage is also raised.
In order to ensure the widest possible participation of guests in these culturally enriching experiences, the activities are scheduled every second Friday. This deliberate approach enables a substantial number of visitors to engage in the diverse range of cultural arts and crafts on offer.
Highlighting a range of captivating experiences, the activities regularly presented undergo periodic rotation to ensure a vibrant tapestry of diversity. Noteworthy among these are Coir Rope making (Roanu Veshun), Embroidery Work (Kasabu Viyun), Coconut Shell Products, Traditional Teaching (Edhuruge), Sharpening knives (Valhi hanulun), Thatch Weaving (Fangi vinun), Palm leaf Crafts (Fanun thakethi ufehdhun), and Traditional Dances.
