This 22 – 25 October 2019, Vakkaru Maldives will open its shores to Alistair Birt, Head Pastry Chef of Harrods London for an extraordinary experience with chocolate.
Guests on the island will be in for a treat as they embark on a journey to discover this ancient food of the gods with Alistair through a series of experiences curated exclusively for Vakkaru Maldives.
From “Bean-To-Bar Chocolate Masterclasses” and “Cacao Cocktails”, to a “Chocolate Degustation” and a “Chocolate Ice Cream Pop-up Parlour”, Vakkaru Maldives will transform into an immersive chocolate playground for guests of all ages.
“Alistair’s Cacao Cocktails” will take place on 3rd October at the Lagoon Bar. Guests can sip on chocolate-infused cocktails including Alistair’s “Cocoa Old Fashioned” made with cocoa nib-infused whiskey whilst overlooking a surreal Maldivian sunset.
“Bean-to-Bar Chocolate Masterclass” will be hosted on 22nd October at Vakkaru Reserve. This intimate setting at the resort’s wine cellar will be surrounded by rare and vintage wine, and the very exclusive masterclass is expected to take guests on a journey through the origins of chocolate.
On 24th October at Vakkaru Reserve, “Chocolate Degustation Dinner” will showcase delights curated by Alistair Birt and Island Sommelier Stefanie Wiesner. Alistair’s chocolate degustation menu is an experience for the senses with three bespoke chocolate desserts.
A “Chocolate Ice Cream Pop-up Parlour” will appear at the Main Pool Side on 25 October 2019. Limited-edition collection of Alistair’s bespoke chocolate ice creams made fresh using ingredients from our organic farm will be available here for guests to try and marvel.
