Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives welcomed Dr. Hussain Haleem to the property’s “Friday Focus Forum” held on 21st June.
Dr. Hussain Haleem or more commonly known as Kuda Husen is a marathon runner, Iron Man contestant and now Life Coach inspiring the next generation of Maldivian sports and fitness enthusiasts at his very own “Kuda Husen Sports Academy” in Male.
Named as Captain of the first ever Maldivian contingent at the Olympic Games (Seoul 1988) and again in 1992 (Barcelona), Dr. Haleem has brought fame and pride to the Maldives whilst realizing his own personal dreams.
The purpose behind the forum is to inspire and encourage the resort team to aspire through Dr. Haleem’s talk about his incredible journey, the many trials and tribulations he faced to achieve his goals.
Over his impressive career, Dr. Haleem has retained 4 of his national marathon records for 25 years, been the first Maldivian to obtain a PhD in Sports Science, completed an international Iron Man Triathlon and received “Presidents Awards” for his contribution to Academics (2006) and Sports (2016).
He was also the Vice President of the National Olympic Committee (2009-2013), Member of the National Sports Council (2006-2013) and served in the Maldives National Defense Force, from which he retired in 2014 as a Lieutenant Colonel and Director of Sports.
