A Season of Starlit Dinners and Island Celebrations at W Maldives

W Maldives will celebrate the festive season from 23 December 2026 to 1 January 2027 with a programme of culinary experiences, beachside gatherings, family activities, live entertainment and island experiences. The celebrations will bring together festive dining, music and outdoor experiences, with events planned across the resort’s venues, from a tree-lighting ceremony by the sea to a New Year’s Eve countdown accompanied by fireworks over the Indian Ocean.

The programme will feature Christmas Eve dining at FIRE Beach, family celebrations at WET Deck on Christmas Day and a resort-wide New Year’s Eve celebration at WAVE Beach. Guests can also enjoy sunset cocktails, curated culinary journeys and stargazing on a private island throughout the festive period.

Festive Celebrations Begin With Glow up the Season

The festive programme begins on 23 December with Glow Up the Season, a tree-lighting ceremony at the Living Room from 5.30 pm to 7 pm. The gathering will mark the start of the celebrations with sparkling lights, seasonal drinks and music in a seaside setting.

A DJ and violinist will provide entertainment as guests gather to welcome the festive season. The event will combine music and seasonal refreshments with the tree-lighting ceremony, setting the tone for the celebrations planned across the island.

Christmas Eve Dinner

On 24 December, W Maldives will host Tides & Tinsel at FIRE Beach from 6.30 pm to 10 pm. The Christmas Eve celebration will centre on a beachside buffet featuring premium roasts, festive specialities, fresh seafood and desserts, with live cooking stations adding to the dining experience.

Set on the sand, the event will combine food with live entertainment in an outdoor setting overlooking the ocean. A DJ and violinist will provide music throughout the evening, accompanying the festive buffet and creating a lively atmosphere for Christmas Eve.

The beachside dinner forms part of the resort’s wider focus on destination dining during the festive period, with culinary experiences planned alongside music and other island activities.

Christmas Day brings Family Activities to WET Deck

Christmas Day celebrations will continue on 25 December with Splash with Santa at WET Deck from 11 am to noon. Designed for families, the event will feature games, creative activities for children and a Santa appearance accompanied by festive surprises and gifts.

The poolside programme will also include music from a DJ and refreshments, creating a setting for families to celebrate Christmas together. The activities will add a playful element to the festive calendar, complementing the resort’s evening dining and entertainment programme.

New Year’s Eve Countdown at WAVE Beach

The celebrations will culminate on New Year’s Eve with a resort-wide programme leading up to a countdown at WAVE Beach. Guests can expect sunset cocktails, live performances and fireworks over the ocean as the resort welcomes the New Year.

The evening will bring together music, entertainment and the island setting, continuing the festive programme’s combination of culinary experiences and social gatherings. Alongside the Christmas celebrations, the New Year’s Eve event will be one of the main highlights of the programme.
