In response to the Ministry of Tourism and MMPRC’s strategic focus on the Chinese market, Canareef Resort Maldives has taken a significant lead in this initiative, marking only the beginning of a promising trend.
Welcoming a record-breaking 151 pax group, Canareef chartered two planes and secured additional seats on scheduled flights for seamless transfer from Male to Addu Atoll. The resort’s commitment to providing unique experiences aligns with the nation’s efforts to strengthen ties with the Chinese market. “Initially, we had wanted to hire the Airbus A320 to lift the entire group all at once; however, due to no availability, we had to opt for chartering two ATR 72 planes”, said a Team Leader from the Resort’s Management.
This remarkable milestone sets the stage for more collaborations and opportunities as the resort looks ahead to further enhance the appeal of Addu Atoll as a prime destination for Chinese tourists.
Nestled in the UNESCO biosphere reserve Addu, Canareef Resort Maldives offers 271 beach villas across a 4.5 km stretch. Accessible by domestic flight and a 10-minute speedboat ride from Gan Airport, it boasts a private picnic island and one of the Maldives’ longest beaches. Enjoy spacious villas with open-air bathrooms and stunning lagoon or Indian Ocean views.
