Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives welcomed actor Karan Tacker and his parents for a few days of quality time together in the Maldives. Away from cameras, scripts and packed schedules, the family enjoyed a relaxed island escape centred on reconnecting and making the most of their time together.
The trip was centred on family time, with mornings spent on the water, long meals, quiet afternoons and simple moments together. Set in the North Malé Atoll, Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives offered an island setting for the stay, with the family settling into a lagoon-facing villa just a short speedboat journey from Velana International Airport.
While his parents embraced the slower pace of island life, Karan Tacker explored the lagoon at a faster pace. He took to the water on a clear-bottom kayak before adding some adrenaline with a jet ski and Seabob. The family later ventured beneath the surface on a semi-submarine experience, taking in the marine life through panoramic viewing windows.
Away from the water, quieter moments brought their own highlights. His parents unwound with a Balinese massage at SPA Cenvaree Retreat, while the family came together for a guided painting session and relaxed afternoons at Sunset Social. They also spent an unhurried afternoon on the catamaran nets with afternoon tea, taking in the changing colours of the lagoon as evening approached.
Dining was another part of the family’s island experience, from a floating breakfast to interactive teppanyaki, Indian grill favourites and Mediterranean-inspired dishes at dinner. With a variety of experiences to choose from, the days were less about following a set itinerary and more about enjoying time together around the same table.
“I spend most of my time on set, so time with my parents is something I really value, and this trip gave us plenty of it. My parents loved the calm of their villa and the evenings at Sunset Social, while I got my fill of time out on the water. The team at Centara Grand Lagoon looked after all three of us with so much warmth that it felt like home from the first day. I would happily come back with them.”
For Tacker, the Maldives offered a chance to slow down between work commitments and spend uninterrupted time with his parents.
