Conrad Maldives Rangali Island Welcomes Renowned Burgundy Winemaker François Labet

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island will welcome renowned winemaker François Labet for a week of wine experiences from 2 to 6 November 2026, bringing the traditions of one of France’s most celebrated wine regions to the Maldives.

With more than five generations dedicated to winemaking, François Labet leads Château de La Tour Clos Vougeot, a distinguished Grand Cru estate in Burgundy. His work has earned international recognition, including Wine Spectator’s recognition of one of the estate’s wines as its No. 1 Wine in the World. Labet has also been a strong advocate for sustainable and biodynamic viticulture and currently serves as President of the Bourgogne Wine Board.

The programme at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island will begin with an intimate sunset reception on 2 November at Rantheli, where in-house guests can meet Labet and hear stories from his family’s winemaking heritage while enjoying handcrafted cocktails, canapés and a curated beverage selection. The reception will take place from 18:00 to 19:00 overlooking the Indian Ocean.

The wine programme will continue on 3 November with Shores & Vintages, a beachfront pairing dinner at Deluxe Beach. Beginning at 19:00, the experience will bring together a selection of wines from Labet’s renowned estates with a menu designed to complement the character of each vintage.

On 6 November, guests will journey beneath the Indian Ocean for The Grand Cru Table at Ithaa Undersea Restaurant. Starting at 18:30, the intimate dinner will feature a curated selection of François Labet’s wines paired with an exclusive menu, set against the underwater surroundings of one of the Maldives’ distinctive dining venues.

Through the programme, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island will bring together Burgundy’s winemaking heritage, culinary experiences and the natural setting of the Maldives, offering guests an opportunity to discover the stories and traditions behind François Labet’s wines.
