Dhigufaru Island Resort, a premier barefoot island retreat nestled within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, proudly marks its 10th anniversary of delivering authentic hospitality and barefoot luxury experiences to guests from around the world.
Situated in the heart of Baa Atoll, Dhigufaru – meaning “long reef”, is a 3.5-hectare sanctuary officially opened in September 15, 2016. The resort officially opened with 43 room keys, including Maldivian-styled Beach Villas, Semi Water Villas, and the Sangu Suite, alongside four dining venues: Dhandifulhu Restaurant, Raagudi Bar, Thundi Pool Bar, and Muraka Fine Dining.
Building on its early success, the resort expanded its accommodation portfolio in 2018 with the addition of 20 Water Villas and 20 Pool Water Villas, providing guests with an enhanced overwater accommodation experience. During this period, the specialty restaurant Athiri Grill, also became fully operational, adding to the resort’s dining venues.
Over the past decade, Dhigufaru has evolved into a well-rounded island destination, offering a comprehensive range of facilities and experiences, including an accessible house reef, spa, fitness center, multi-purpose sports facilities, water sports and diving operations in partnership with Ocean Dimensions, and a variety of curated recreational excursions for guests of all ages.
