First Brand Ambassador of Maldives Border Miles Visits Maldives

Jose Enrique, the first Brand Ambassador of the Maldives Border Miles visits Maldives for the promotional purposes of the Program and Maldives as a destination. This is his first trip to the Maldives since his appointment as the Brand Ambassador of the Program on September 2021.


Jose was warmly welcomed at Velana International Airport by the Executive Director, Thayyib Shaheem, of Ministry of Tourism, Chief Immigration Officer Hawwa Liufa of Maldives Immigration, General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Hassan Areef of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and Head of Media & Public Relations, Mifthah Mohamed, of Maldives Immigration. Additionally, the Director of Sales and Marketing, Mohamed Nuas, of W Maldives also joined the event to welcome the Brand Ambassador. Jose was warmly welcomed with the local Boduberu and was presented with several souvenirs from the invitees.

On this trip, Jose will be working together with the Maldives Border Miles team to share his experience in the Maldives and share the benefits being a member of the Maldives Border Miles. For Jose, Maldives is one of his favorite holiday destinations and described the country as ‘Paradise on Earth.

Maldives Border Miles is the World’s First Destination loyalty program for tourists. Members of the Program will earn points during each visit to the Maldives, and the number of points is based on the duration of stay, visits to celebrate their special occasions, visits on local occasions, frequency of visits, and other aspects.

Rewards, services or benefits to the members are based on their tier status. They shall earn a certain amount of points to reach each tier – 500 points for Aida (Bronze Tier), 2,000 points for Antara (Silver Tier) and 4,000 points for Abaarana (Gold Tier).

Membership to the program is free and tourists shall visit to enroll as a member. The grandest offer to the members is the VIP service offered to Abaarana members.

Additionally, Maldives Border Miles announced a lucky-draw on World Tourism Day 2021, and tourists who registers to the program until 31st December 2021 will stand a chance to win a holiday worth $7000 (seven thousand US Dollar) in the Maldives.
