Furaveri Resort Maldives, recently hosted a group of travel agents from the western India region. The FAM was done in association with Youngistan Travellers, a leading destination management company (DMC) for the Maldives.  A total of nine agents from Surat, Ahmedabad and Mumbai were hosted for the special FAM.

The purpose of this familiarisation trip was to create property awareness and achieve better arrival numbers by bringing travel agents from the Indian market. Furthermore, the trip was aimed to promote the resort, highlight its salient features to the agents and educate the travel agents about the destination, which will help them to make curated packages for the Indian audience.

A mere 45-minute scenic seaplane ride away from Velana International airport, Furaveri Maldives is an un-spoilt paradise, which is surrounded by a sandy white beach and a sparkling turquoise lagoon. The 3-night 4-day trip offered a great understanding of the property and helped agents to experience its amenities. The itinerary included a guided tour of the property, water sports, spa sessions, theme nights, and meals at sunset point amongst others. The agents had a great experience at the Furaveri Wellness village and were amazed at Indian culinary options prepared by Indian chefs for Indian travellers.

“We are seeing a steady increase in tourist arrivals from India which is mostly attributed to our Indian travel trade partners who understand the uniqueness of Furaveri Maldives and are promoting the same to leisure travellers. We are elated by the feedback we received from the agents.  Maldives is a hassle-free destination with visa on arrival and direct flights from many Indian cities. We look forward to hosting more trade partners in the months to come and create a positive aspiration for Furaveri Maldives,” said Ali Shiyad, Senior Sales & Marketing Manager, Furaveri Resort, Maldives.

The agents who participated in the FAM trip loved the resort and were upbeat about its potential to become a sought after family, honeymoon, eco-tourism and wellness holiday destination for the Indians. They were impressed with the pristine beaches, natural flora and fauna, water sport activities, comfort cuisine and friendly staff.
