Joy Island Maldives, part of The Cocoon Collection, marked its 3rd anniversary on Thursday, 1 October 2026, with a beachfront gala dinner and an evening of music and entertainment, celebrated alongside valued partners and guests.
Guests were welcomed to the celebration by a golden anniversary sculpture set on the sand, carrying the messages “Celebrating the journey together” and “Inspired by nature, connected by people”. Partners and guests were also invited to leave heartfelt messages on a special board created for the occasion.

The evening began at 18:30hrs with an Anniversary Cocktail, accompanied by live music from a vocalist and guitarist performing against the Joy Island backdrop.
Chief Operating Officer of The Cocoon Collection, Mr. Jay welcomed guests with a speech, thanking partners, guests and the island team for their support over the past three years. He also gave a short overview of The Cocoon Collection resorts and the group’s growth.

At 19:10hrs, the anniversary cake was presented as three croquembouche towers of caramel-glazed choux puffs, cut to applause from guests. Guests then took their seats for a gala dinner on the beach, with an extensive menu created by the resort’s culinary team. With the ocean as a backdrop, the dinner offered a wide choice of dishes to suit every taste and gave partners and guests the opportunity to celebrate together.
A DJ chill-out set, live band performances and solo acts were followed by a traditional Maldivian dance, a fire dance and a fire show. The Anniversary Party DJ then kept the island dancing late into the evening.

“Three years ago, we set out to create a place where every guest feels truly welcome,” said Mr. Jay, Chief Operating Officer of The Cocoon Collection. “Tonight was our way of saying thank you to the partners who believed in our vision and the guests who keep coming back to us. Their trust is what makes this milestone possible, and it inspires us to keep raising the standard of hospitality at Joy Island.”
The week-long celebration continues until 4 October 2026, with a lively programme of wellness, entertainment and island experiences. Since opening, Joy Island has built its reputation on warm Maldivian hospitality, attentive service and memorable guest experiences. The anniversary celebration reflects the resort’s commitment to upholding these standards as it continues to grow.
