Jorge Amaro assumes the role of New General Manager at Kuredu Island Resort & Spa, while Maurice Van Den Bosch is appointed as the new General Manager at Jawakara Islands Maldives.
Bringing in over 30 years of experience Jorge has worked in various positions throughout his career in the hospitality industry, from F&B Manager to Hotel Manager, in multiple hotels and resorts across Europe (Switzerland, France, Portugal), Africa (São Tome and Príncipe, Seychelles), and the Caribbean (Martinique).
This hotelier with immense experience began his career in the Maldives as the Operations Manager at Rihiveli Beach Resort in 2011. Followed by that in 2017, he joined AH&R Group Maldives and served as the Resort Manager and was later promoted to the General Manager’s position in 2018, where he worked with the team until September 2022.
Reflecting on Jorge’s professional career, he graduated from the Hotel & Tourism School of Lisbon in 2003 with a degree in Hotel Management. Prior to his appointment to Kuredu, he was serving as the GM of Innahura Maldives Resort, where he successfully proved his passion for excellence and engagement.
Jorge who is excited about his new role said “My life goal is to share my passion for working in hospitality. Maurice Van Den Bosch, currently the GM of Kuredu Island Resort and Spa has been appointed as the General Manager of Jawakara Islands Maldives, the latest addition to the Crown and Champa Resorts, CCR. The new resort which is expected to officially open by October this year, will commence the hospitality journey with Maurice, who has over 24 years of luxury hospitality experience, with moving up the ladder excelling at every level of the industry and discovering different versions of his success all the way to the top. A great deal of his triumph was acquired in Australia, New Zealand and the Maldives.
Embarking on the Maldives tourism journey in 2017 as the Resort Manager of Ozen by Atmosphere, Maurice rose through the ranks from General Manager at Atmosphere Kanifushi and later to a group-level role of Vice President of Operations with Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts. Subsequently, Maurice was involved as General Manager for the Pre-Opening of Le Meridien Maldives and then driving services and guest experience at Coco Bodu Hithi.
Prior to this new appointment, Maurice being the General Manager of Kuredu Island Resort & Spa has contributed much to the success of the resort, with his strong work ethic and management skills to receive numerous Traveler’s Choice Awards as well.
