Maldives Tourism Takes Centre Stage at Kazakhstan International Travel Fair

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ Visit Maldives), accompanied by 17 co-exhibitors from the nation’s vibrant tourism industry, has made a splash at the Kazakhstan International Travel Fair (KITF) 2024. The fair, a cornerstone of Central Asia’s tourism calendar since 2001, ran from the 24th to the 26th of April in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

MMPRC’s participation is a strategic move to bolster the Maldives’ reputation as a top holiday destination. The fair provides a platform for forging relationships with agents and buyers from Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asian region, allowing the Maldives to spotlight its exceptional offerings. MMPRC and its partners will share up-to-date information about the Maldives, emphasising the archipelago’s diverse experiences, commitment to sustainability, and unique blend of nature and conservation.

The Maldives stand at KITF 2024 is a testament to the “Sunny Side of Life.” From immersive seascapes to cultural experiences, the stand transports visitors into the heart of Maldivian tourism. The Russian and CIS travel trade can engage directly with representatives to explore partnerships, while QR codes and destination information brochures provide easy access to details. Additionally, beautifully crafted calligraphy bookmarks are offered as keepsakes, adding a touch of Maldivian heritage. Promotional videos further enhance the immersive experience.

Russia is a significant source market for the Maldives, with 68,919 Russian tourists visiting as of 16th April 2024. MMPRC actively engages in marketing activities across the CIS region, including participation in the Moscow Dive Show earlier this year and a year-long social media campaign to maintain visibility and awareness.
