Maldivian Celebrates Inaugural Flights Connecting Malé and Beijing

Maldivian has marked a significant milestone in its history with the successful launch of its inaugural flights between Malé and Beijing. The flight, operated on the airline’s Airbus A330, touched down in China’s capital on 24th January, celebrating the direct connection between the two destinations. To honour this momentous occasion, passengers on board were treated to special gifts, showcasing the airline’s appreciation for their support in this historic journey.

The following day, on 25th January, the return flight from Beijing touched down in Malé, where it was greeted by a grand welcome ceremony. Traditional Maldivian Boduberu music and the gifting of flowers to passengers highlighted the warmth and hospitality for which the Maldives is renowned. The celebration underlined the significance of this new route for both countries, as it paves the way for increased tourism and cultural exchange.

As part of the celebrations, Maldivian honoured its first three check-in passengers from both Chengdu and Beijing, presenting them with exclusive prizes. These included return tickets, luxury holiday packages sponsored by Cora Cora Maldives and Hideaway Beach Resort, as well as miniature A330 aircraft models. The airline extended its heartfelt thanks to all involved, ensuring that these moments would be remembered by everyone who made this inaugural journey possible.
