Milaidhoo Maldives unveiled a unique and exciting celebration for World Chocolate Day. To mark this delectable occasion, Milaidhoo is hosting a prestigious competition among the eight resorts within the Universal Resorts group. This friendly contest is designed to ignite the creativity of the talented culinary teams, all centred around their favourite ingredient, chocolate. The competition’s theme, “Les Œufs de Fabergé,” draws inspiration from the iconic jewelled eggs.
Conceived by Milaidhoo’s Cluster Executive Chef, this initiative promises to be a standout event, fostering camaraderie and showcasing culinary brilliance within the group. “This competition is a fantastic way for us to come together, engage in friendly competition, and, most importantly, celebrate our shared passion for culinary arts in a fun and innovative manner,” says Chef Ken Gundu. “Milaidhoo, as a flagship resort within the Universal Resorts family, offers the perfect setting for this gathering, providing colleagues from other properties a chance to experience the unique charm and hospitality of Milaidhoo.”
Teams of two chefs from each resort will work their chocolate magic, with all assembly and preparation taking place at Milaidhoo, where a special area in the kitchen has been dedicated for this purpose. The grand unveiling of these chocolate masterpieces will occur on Sunday, July 7th, at Ocean, the main restaurant renowned for its exquisite breakfast offerings.
On competition day, Milaidhoo guests will have the chance to marvel at the stunning chocolate sculptures on display. To heighten the excitement, select guests will serve as the jury, using their taste buds and artistic sensibilities to determine the winner. The victorious team will be announced at the end of the day, concluding this sweet celebration with a flourish.
This event not only highlights the exceptional skills of the chefs but also emphasises the collaborative spirit within the Universal Resorts group.
