MMPRC Announces Public Voting Event to Support the Maldives’ Nominations for WTA’s Indian Ocean Category

The Maldives is once again in contention for 9 prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) in the Indian Ocean category. To garner public support and showcase the unparalleled beauty of the Maldives, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is hosting a special Voting Event at Velaanaage ground floor on 28th March 2024, from 9:15 AM to 1:15 PM.

The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, is recognised as the highest accolade in the travel and tourism industry. Their annual awards program celebrates excellence across various sectors, with regional ceremonies culminating in a Grand Final. Winning a WTA signifies global recognition and sets a benchmark for hospitality standards.

Throughout the years, the Maldives has consistently impressed voters and travel experts alike, having previously secured many of the most coveted Indian Ocean category titles such as Leading Destination, Leading Beach Destination, and Leading Tourist Board for many years prior.
