How did you get started with your career?

Started as Banquet waiter at Ramada Renaissance Colombo (Now Cinnamon Lakeside) in 1988

What are some of your notable successes?

Won a Gold Medal for Flambe Desserts at Salone Culinaire in 1992, Member of the opening team of Hotels in Dubai, and many renovations in Cinnamon Hotels. Food & Beverage concept for the fast food chain in South India.

What are some of the challenges that you have faced?

To be hotelier you need to have a big heart & happy to see others enjoying & being part of their happiness….. You are international not belonging to any nationality, race or religion. Treat everyone same but prioritize needs of each individual.

What is your advice for young adults interested in entering the Tourism Industry?

It is the most passionate industry on the planet of earth, more you enjoy you will not get tired, and you will be rewarded, recognized and remembered for your hard word & passion.
