Addicted to Maldives Launches New Travel Initiative to Help Keep Travelers’ Dreams Alive

In a sector hard hit by the COVID-19 crisis, the team behind luxury travel concierge group, Addicted to Maldives, is breathing fresh life into the travel industry with the launch a new passion project – Maldives United – initiated with the dual purpose of stabilizing tourism in the Maldives and reigniting traveler confidence.

Maldives United co-founder, Di Lechner, said the initiative comprises a group of leading Maldives resort partners united by their commitment to elevating the world’s most unique destination.

“We have joined forces with some of the Maldives’ most loved properties and together our mission is to safeguard tourism in the destination and remove financial doubt for travelers during this period of uncertainty,” she said.

“Tourism is the single largest economic industry in the Maldives and the local communities depend on it for survival,” she explained. “As tourism operators in the region, we feel it is our duty to do whatever we can to protect the future of the island archipelago and the livelihood of its inhabitants.”

Additionally, the Maldives United team is aware that the global community needs something to look forward to during these trying times.

“We’re all about giving people something positive to dream about, to rebuild consumer confidence, and to allow them to book their piece of paradise with peace of mind,” Di said.

The Maldives United philosophy is: book now and travel later with financial security. To date, 17 resort partners have joined the initiative and they have all committed to a lengthy travel window – until December 2021 – underpinned by an extended payment and cancellation policy that allows travelers to cancel up to seven days prior to travel.

“Today might not be the right time to travel, but it is the perfect time to bring fantasies of distant shores to life by securing the trip of a lifetime for the future,” Di commented. “Never before have we seen such discounted packages for the Maldives and we’re proud to say they’re risk free.”

“By extending final payment and full cancellation until seven days before departure, travelers can leverage these great rates with a 10% deposit, without worrying about losing money.”
