Amilla Maldives Dives Into This Festive Season With Under the Sea

Amilla Maldives is set to celebrate the festive season with an Under the Sea programme running from 20 December 2026 to 7 January 2027, featuring family activities, culinary experiences, live entertainment and celebrations across the island.

The programme brings together a range of experiences inspired by the festive season and the surrounding Indian Ocean, with activities for couples, families and younger guests. Highlights include the festive tree lighting and White Party, Christmas Eve gala dinner, Santa’s arrival, a mermaid pool party and underwater treasure hunt, alongside a series of dining events and entertainment throughout the celebrations.

Festivities begin with the Tree Lighting Ceremony and White Party on 22 December at Pool Beach, featuring live entertainment, Christmas carols, festive cocktails and DJ performances. The following day, families can enjoy magic performances by international artists, while an oyster platter will be available during dinner service.

Christmas Eve on 24 December will feature gingerbread house-making activities for children and teenagers, followed by a cocktail party at Main Beach. The evening continues with a gala dinner buffet at Fresh, featuring fresh oysters, premium seafood, sushi and sashimi, international cheeses, traditional Christmas dishes, live grills and a selection of vegan and vegetarian creations. Live entertainment, including magic performances, saxophone music and DJ sets, will accompany the celebrations.

On Christmas Day, guests can welcome Santa and his crew during a gift-giving ceremony at Main Beach before joining a mermaid pool party and underwater treasure hunt in the afternoon. The programme continues with a Family MasterChef challenge on 26 December, while the Amilla Football Cup will bring guests together for three days of friendly competition, concluding with the grand finals and closing ceremony on 28 December.

Dining experiences remain a central part of the festive programme, with the Treasure of the Sea Dinner on 27 December offering a seafood-focused culinary experience accompanied by live music and saxophone performances. Other highlights include a Surf and Turf BBQ Dinner on 29 December and a truffle dinner at Barolo on 5 January. Guests can also take part in Garden to Glass, an interactive cocktail-making experience at Mystique Garden, on 4 January.

The entertainment programme will feature a variety of activities, including a pyjama party, talent show, trivia night and Beach Glow Party. Sports and recreational experiences include a tennis tournament, gymnastics workshop, family ocean relay games and an island treasure hunt for children and teenagers. Guests can also experience the Glowing Reef, a UV night snorkelling excursion designed to reveal the reef beneath the water after dark.

New Year’s Eve celebrations on 31 December will begin with a cocktail party at The Emperor Beach Club, followed by a gala dinner at Fresh. On 1 January, guests can welcome the new year with a leisurely brunch and family relay games. Further entertainment includes a duo acrobatic performance and an LED show.

The celebrations will continue into January with Orthodox Christmas festivities on 6 January. The programme includes a sunset cocktail party at Baa Bar Beach, an Orthodox gala dinner at Main Beach and Christmas After Dark, featuring music and entertainment at Baa Bar.
