Atmosphere hotels to open two new resorts in Maldives

Atmosphere Hotels and Resorts has announced that the hospitality company is working on developing two new resorts in the Maldives.

Opening in 2020, “Oblu X” in Kaafu Atoll will be the largest of all Atmosphere properties, with 350 villas and suites. A second four-star OBLU property with 220 villas and suites will open in the hugely popular Baa Atoll, incorporating contrasting elements of nature and a cast-away theme.

Following the recent announcement of the latest property to launch within the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts portfolio – VARU by Atmosphere (opening in late 2019 in North Malé Atoll) – the Indian Ocean-based hospitality brand has unveiled that they further plan on opening two properties in Sri Lanka.

Venkata Giri, COO at Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, commented: “Our rapid expansion plans are a true indication of Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts’ world-class offering and services. We’re proud to be able to welcome even more visitors to the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts brand now that we are launching four more properties across both the Maldives and Sri Lanka. It has always been our mission to create unique, authentic, and beyond imaginary experiences for our guests.”

Atmosphere Hotels and Resorts is a dynamic and fast-growing Indian Ocean Hotels & Resorts group currently based in the Maldives. Atmosphere’s first property, Atmosphere Kanifushi, opened its doors on December 2013.

The group opened its second property, OBLU by Atmosphere at Helengeli, in November 2015; followed by their flagship Lifestyle Luxury sub-brand, OZEN by Atmosphere, in July 2016; and then OBLU Select at Sangeli, which opened on July 2018.
