AVANI Fares Maldives to open in late 2020

AVANI Fares Maldives is set to open in the 4th quarter of 2020, on the island of Fares in Baa Atoll. This was first announced on 22nd August 2017. The resort is built to be an ideal getaway destination for millennials as the main target group.

The new upscale resort will compromise of 200 guest rooms including standard rooms and a wide selection of villas. The resort will also feature an AVANISPA, AVANI Kids Club and a large communal pool with a poolside bar.

Alejandro Bernabe, Group Director AVANI Hotels & Resorts said: “The AVANI design philosophy is interestingly relaxed and contemporary and in tune with the environment of this development, using natural textures, colors, and materials that reflect the location whilst incorporating advanced technology and modern conveniences.”

The $70 million resort development is a joint project by Minor Hotels and Cyprea Group.  Cyprea Group’s diverse portfolio includes ownership and operation of Club Med Kani Maldives Resort located in North Male’ Atoll.

AVANI hotels were created in 2011 as a sister brand to Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas. The brand already has a presence in the Indian Ocean with two resorts in Sri Lanka and one in Seychelles.
