Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts introduces coral reef-safe sunscreen

Banyan Tree Hotel & Resorts has introduced a new coral reef-safe mineral sunscreen, the ‘Banyan Tree Coconut & Seaweed Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA+++’.

This coral reef-safe mineral sunscreen is formulated to shield skin against long-term sun damage while minimizing the impact on the marine environment.

As part of the leading hotel group’s efforts and commitment towards marine conservation, the sunscreen contains 100% non-nano mineral filters Zinc Oxide and Titanium Oxide, which does not react with coral reefs after being washed into the oceans instead settling as part of its natural sediment.

The mineral filters act as a physical barrier between skin and the sun, blocking out both UVA and UVB rays without being absorbed into the skin – ideal for both sensitive skin and the fragile coral reefs.

It also contains organic Virgin Coconut Oil and vitamin-rich Red Seaweed (also known as Red Algae) Extract to maintain hydration while reducing cell damage by free radicals.

The latest addition to Banyan Tree Essentials’ Coconut and Seaweed collection, the ‘Banyan Tree Coconut & Seaweed Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA+++’ is specially made with 94.5% naturally derived ingredients each chosen for its multitude of benefits and is ideal for all skin types, with no additions of harmful synthetics such as parabens, sulfates, phthalates and artificial fragrances.

Banyan Tree was founded with the core values of driving sustainable development. As a global hospitality group operating in diverse locations, Banyan Tree’s concept of sustainability seeks to create long term value for multiple stakeholders and destinations.

Hotels under the Banyan Tree portfolio include Banyan Tree Lijiang, Banyan Tree Cabo Marques, Banyan Tree Seychelles, Banyan Tree Lăng Cô Vietnam and Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru Maldives.
