Dhigufaru Island Resort’s Expansion Complete, Set To Reopen From September 1

After undertaking a major expansion project, Dhigufaru Island Resort Maldives is gearing up to recommence its operations from 1st September 2020.

The resort was due to re-open on 1st June 2020 after the expansion project, however although the resort was ready and geared for the re-opening, due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic and international borders being closed resort was not able to start the operation.

Since the Health Protection Agency of Maldives has now lowered the precautionary status related to COVID-19 due to plummeting of cases and authorities announced opening the border on 15th July, Dhigufaru Island Resort Maldives has announced that the resort is now well set to re-open and officially commence it’s operation on 01st September 2020.

The expansion project increased the number of villas from 40 to 85 villas. New villa additions include 20 Over Water Villas, 20 Over Water Pool Villas, 2 Bedroom Family Villas and a Presidential Suite. Out of the 30 existing Beach Villas, 10 Villas has been upgraded to Pool Beach Villas. 10 existing Semi Water Villas has been refurbished. With expansion of inventory, the main Dhandifulhu restaurant, Main Thundi Pool Bar and coffee shop, Funa Spa as well as the entertainment center had been expended. The new service outlet additions include the New Over Water Kakuni Restaurant and Raagondi Bar. Being a family friendly resort, the island also features a Kids club with kids pool, kids indoor and out door play area with a variety of programs for kids.
