Furaveri Maldives has won the ‘Best General Manager’ award in the ‘Indian Ocean Islands’ region at the World Luxury Travel Awards.
The ‘Continent’ level award was presented to the resort at the recently concluded 2019 World Luxury Hotel Awards at the enchanted Arctic Circle in Finland.
Furaveri Island Resort and Spa’s General Manager is Mohamed Hilmy. Hilmy worked both locally and internationally in the tourism industry and has acquired 24 years of experience in the field.
He started his journey in the Tourism Industry in 1995 when he joined Bandos Maldives. While working in Bandos Maldives, he completed a General Hotel Service Programme from Maldives College of Higher Education, now known as the Maldives National University. His previous work experiences as a General Manager also include working at Sun Aqua Vilu Reef, Olhuveli Beach Resort and Spa, and Sun Aqua Iru Veli. The compilation of resorts he worked at for the past 24 years includes Hilton Maldives, Sun Island Resort and Spa, White Sand Resort and Spa, Angsana Velavaru and Banyan Tree Vabbifaru.
