IHG Launches New Upscale Brand, Voco

The hotel brand has plans to open more than 200 new hotels over the course of the next 10 years.

The properties will belong to a new upscale brand called Voco and few confirmed locations include Australia and the United Kingdom.

IHG is one of the biggest hotel brands in the world.  It is the parent company of major hotel chains like Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Crowne Plaza. IHG Resorts in the Maldives includes the Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives.

The Voco brand is designed to offer a relaxed and reliable experience for travelers. Guests who stay at Voco locations will be able to tap into the perks and benefits offered by the expansive IHG® Rewards Club.

IHG announced in July that an agreement had been reached with Covivio to rebrand a total of 13 properties in the United Kingdom under the Voco label. Also, this brand will initially be rolled out in IHG’s European, Middle Eastern, African and Asian markets and expanding to China and throughout America in the future.

The Watermark Hotel & Spa Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise is set to be the first Voco property to open outside of Europe. It will re-open as a Voco hotel by the end of 2018.
