IndiGo to Resume Mumbai-Maldives Flights from 15th October

IndiGo is resuming flights from Mumbai to the capital of Maldives, Malé starting Thursday, 15 October. The carrier will fly twice a week, on Thursday and Sunday, and may add flights as and when demand picks up.

The flight from Mumbai to the Maldives will depart at 10.25 am and arrive in Malé at 1.10pm. On return, the flight from Malé leaves at 2.20pm and lands in Mumbai at 6.10pm.

IndiGo is currently operating weekly flights between Kochi-Male-Kochi under air bubble from 3rd September onward. Indigo operates 2 flights weekly between Kochi-Male-Kochi on every on Thursdays and Sundays. According to the airline the Kochi to Male flight will take off from Kochi at 12:10 and arrive at Male at 13:10. Then on its return journey, the flight will take off from Male at 14:10, and land at Kochi at 16:10.

Earlier in August, Maldives and India agreed to establish an Air Bubble between the 2 countries. This is the first Air Bubble established in South Asia. The flights are arranged in a safe corridor provided by the local authorities where the tourists can travel straight to their respective resorts from the airport without any hassle, in absence of quarantine restrictions.

India is one of the key international tourist market to the Maldives and increase in number of flights between Maldives and India will increase the tourist arrival to the Maldives.

Maldives reopened borders to all nationalities from 15th July 2020. All visitors are granted a 30-day free on-arrival visa with a confirmed booking for a stay at any registered tourist facility in the country.

While there is no is no mandatory quarantine or testing on arrival, tourists traveling to Maldives are required to complete an online health declaration form and provide a negative PCR test result taken at least 96 hours prior to their departure. The negative PCR test result must be attached while completing Traveler Health Declaration form, which has to be submitted online via IMUGA (www.imuga.immigration.gov.mv), by all arriving passengers before arrival (but not exceeding 24 hours before arrival time).
