Maldives Among Top 10 Travel Destinations During COVID-19

Maldives has emerged among the top 10 travel destinations during COVID-19 by Travel Off Path.

An online travel news portal for United States and Canada, Travel Off Path has been the leader of travel in a COVID-19 world since the beginning of the pandemic and they have analyzed the trends of where travelers are headed and where they are raving about.


To be considered for Travel Off Path’s ‘Top 10 Travel Destinations During COVID-19′, destinations had to meet the following criteria:

  • Received the Safe Travel Global Safety Stamp by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
  • Do not have a 14 day quarantine
  • Are welcoming of tourists from most countries
  • Have realistic entry requirements including appropriate timelines for COVID-19 testing prior to arrival
  • Follow the CDC’s recommendation of masks in public spaces and social distancing

Maldives was ranked as number 9th travel destination to travel during COVID-19.

The destination also revealed among the hot spots for the luxury travelers around the globe through a survey by International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM).

The recently announced Condé Nast Traveler’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards; The World’s Best Hotels, Resorts, Countries, Cities, Islands, Spas, Trains, Airlines, Airports and Cruises Ranked by Travelers this year, resorts located in Maldives dominated the Top 30 Resorts in The Indian Ocean, filling up a grand total of 26 slots.
