According to a circular released by the Civil Aviation Authority, Maldives will restrict the entry of all persons, regardless of nationality, who have traveled from or have transited through Bangladesh for the past 14 days. This temporary travel ban will be effective from 0000hrs on 10th to 24th March.

Bangladesh confirmed their first case of COVID-19 on 8th March after three people tested positive for the infectious virus in the capital Dhaka.

The Government had previously taken border control measures by temporarily suspending all tourist arrivals from China, Italy, Iran and from parts of South Korea.
