Maldives: The Sun Will Shine Again. The bucket list destination has kick started tourism and is now ready to welcome the world to its crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches again.

The Facebook live event, “Maldives: The Sun Will Shine Again” commenced on 8th June with a chance to celebrate the picturesque islands of Maldives. The event was joined by over 85,000 and reached over 1.2 excited travelers world-wide, MMPRC revealed.

The event kicked off with a theme song: “Maldives: The Sun Will Shine Again”. It was followed by messages from the Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations (MMPRC), Thoyyib Mohamed and Minister of Tourism, Ali Waheed, welcoming tourists to the paradise destination once again.

Well-wishers from all over the world, together with key figures from the tourism industry of Maldives participated in this 4 hour long event. Messages received by travelers from all over the world expressed how impatiently they are all waiting to return back to the sunny side of life.

“The event was a success with several positive comments from travelers throughout the globe,” Thoyyib Mohamed, Managing Director of MMPRC said. “Travelers want to return back to Maldives. We also conducted a poll during the event which revealed what adventures are they looking forward to on their next trip to the Maldives.”

Apart from the appearance of international figures and performances by local artists, a quiz was held throughout the event giving away 30 prizes from resorts and guesthouses to lucky winners for a free holiday opportunity in Maldives.

This event was hosted by MMPRC in association with the Ministry of Tourism, Public Service Media (PSM), Orca Media Group and Mondhu Productions.
